Watson is a well known activist in the areas of social justice, youth, LGBT issues, human rights, politics, and HIV/AIDS. He is President of the D.C. Coalition of Black Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Men and Women, and Director of Programs for Transgender Health Empowerment where with both organizations he has worked on community forums, cultural scensetivity trainings, and lobbied before congress and the DC city council

He serves on the Regional Health Services HIV/AIDS Planning Council, Mayors LGBT Executive Advisory Board, Mayor's HIV/AIDS Advisory Board, and volunteer instructor with American Red Cross. He is a member of the DC Black Pride Planning committee, Gertrude Stein Democratic Club, GLAA, and is a former board member of Youth Pride Alliance.
