World AIDS Day Edition of SPARKLE Open Mic Poetry

openmicmic112013.jpgFor World AIDS Day this year, the HIV Working Group will be collaborating with Center Arts and the SPARKLE Open Mic Poetry to present a World AIDS Day edition of this queer-friendly and focused reading series that has featured an array of LGBT-dedicated poets.

This edition of SPARKLE will be held on Sunday, December 1st, from 8PM to 10PM at Busboys and Poets ay 2021 14th Street NW. It will include featured poet Adam Stone from Boston, as well as a tentatively scheduled performance by members of Brave Soul Collective, with whom The DC Center and its HIV Working Group have partnered for previous World AIDS Day and National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day events.

The event will be hosted by Regie Cabico and Danielle Evennou. There is a $5 Cover. On the day of the event, tickets can be purchased online here starting at midnight and in the restaurant starting at 10:00 AM at the Bookstore (cash only). No refunds. Ticket purchase limit of 4 per person. Tickets will be sold at the door if available. Guests must have their wristbands (tickets) on upon entering the event.
