The Play: How do you symbolize your love if you're a scientist developing a small, portable virtual reality and roses just won't do? With humor and heart, Pocket Universe dissects the fantasies and realities of human interactions in an uncontrolled environment.

The Playwright: Duncan Pflaster has won awards for his plays The Empress of Sex, The Taint of Equality, Prince Trevor Amongst the Elephants, The Thyme of the Season, The Starship Astrov, Sweeter Dreams, The Wastes of Time, Bill's Threesome, Dark Night of the Russet Rascal, Mine or Yours, Eternity: Time Without End, Say Something Shocking (The Spit-Take Play), and The Tragedy of Dandelion. Other selected plays include Really Real Love, Messin' With The Kid, Suckers, Admit Impediments, Sleeping in Tomorrow, Pleased as Man With Man to Dwell, and Ore, or Or. Five of his full-length plays are published online and are available for download at Indie Theater Now. Pocket Universe will be published later this year in Smith & Kraus' The Best New Ten Minute Plays 2013, and a monologue from The Taint of Equality in Smith & Kraus' The Best New Male Monologues 2013. He is a member of EMG Workshop as well as The Dramatists Guild. He can be found online at
