DC Concerned Providers (DCCP) will be holding their meeting on Tuesday, April 2nd at the DC Center from 1:30-3:30pm.
DCCP exists to facilitate partnerships among organizations that seek to decrease HIV/STI rates among DC area young men of color who have sex with men (YMSM) and young transgender women of color (YTWOC).
It is DCCP's vision to build upon existing HIV prevention efforts at the community, governmental and individual level and bring about structural level changes that impact and influence policies, organizational systems, resource availability and even the physical environment to improve the health and well being of YMSM and YTWOC.
Washington, DC has the highest rates of HIV/AIDS of any American city, with the majority of new infections among African Americans. DCCP began in 2001 to bring together a diverse group of young people and organizations who wanted to improve the quality of life for young transgender women of color and young men of color who have sex with men, with a special focus on positively impacting the root causes of HIV/AIDS.
