The DC Center Announces Co-Chairs for the Center Women Beaujolais Nouveau Party

ebonyandlaura.jpgThe DC Center is proud to announce that Ebone Bell and Laura Steiner will serve as co-chairs of the first annual Center Women Beaujolais Nouveau Party. The party takes place Thursday November 15th at 6:30 PM. (see the facebook event page here)

Ebone F. Bell is the Founder and Managing Editor of Tagg Magazine. Tagg is a bi-monthly lesbian publication and website serving the DC, MD, Virginia, and Rehoboth areas. Bell also manages B.O.I. Marketing & Promotions, an LGBT event management and event marketing company, based in Washington, D.C. She has been immersed in the Washington Metropolitan Area LGBT community for several years. Bell has produced such events as the annual Capital Queer Prom, Capital Pride Women's Parties, Pride in the Sky, and the Put on the Gloves Fashion Show. Recently, she won the 2012 Capital Pride Hero Award and the 2011 Trevor Project Outstanding Achievement Award. She currently sits on the board for the Capital Area Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (CAGLCC), leading the women's networking events.

Laura V. Steiner is the Owner and C.E.O. of Meliora Pet Care, which specializes in pet-sitting and dog walking in DC. Steiner is also an active volunteer in the local community, particularly focused on animal welfare, emergency preparedness/response, and LGBTQ issues. She has served as Chairperson for a number of local LGBTQ programs, such as the DC Center's Center Arts and the Women's Information Network's Queer Network. While volunteering for Center Arts, she spearheaded the inaugural DC Queer Theatre Festival. As a PhaseFest steering committee volunteer, she managed and directed the inaugural PhaseFest: Queer Music and Arts Festival. She has been an AIDS Walk DC participant and team captain, a Food and Friends' Dining Out For Life volunteer and ambassador, a Food and Friends' Chef's Best volunteer, an HRC National Dinner and phonebank volunteer, and a Greater DC Cares Servathon participant/volunteer, team captain, project leader, top team fundraiser, and top individual fundraiser.
