(Washington, D.C.) -The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in providing further information in an aggravated assault in the 1900 block of 3rd Street, NE.

On Sunday, July 22, 2012, at approximately midnight, two complainants were in the 1900 block of 3rd Street, NE, when three suspects appeared from an unknown direction and assaulted them. The suspects fled in an unknown direction. One complainant was taken to a local hospital for treatment for his injuries. Preliminary investigation has revealed that there were witnesses to the assault.
