The DC HIV Prevention Community Planning Group (HPCPG) is looking for volunteers to help the stop the HIV epidemic in the District. The HPCPG regularly reviews the DC Department of Health (DOH) plan to address the epidemic and ensure that it speaks to the needs of those most affected, infected and at highest risk for HIV transmission.
The HPCPG is made of people from various races/ethnicities, genders, ages, and sexualities who represent groups most affected by the epidemic - they are members of or provide services to these groups.
We specifically seek representation from injection drug users, heterosexuals, and men who have sex with men (MSM). We also are seeking providers of substance abuse, mental health, or HIV/AIDS services, particularly care and treatment providers.
The HPCPG needs members who represent young adults (13‑24), people living with HIV/AIDS, Black/Latino MSM, Black heterosexual men, Black injection drug users, transgender individuals, and people who are 50 and over.
The HPCPG meets once every month and members also participate in monthly committee duties for a combined 4-6 hour monthly commitment. Members serve renewable 2-year terms.
