Brittany Fonte comes to the DC Center with a reading for her book, Buddha in My Belly. The reading will take place on Saturday, August 4th, from 5:00pm to 5:30pm.

Brittany Fonte's book, Buddha in My Belly, is a prose poetry collection that explores the spiritual, maternal, and sexual in the 21st Century. The work is akin to a prayer for compassion, both for one's self and humanity; the hybrid form reflects the yin and yang of our collective existence and our constant balancing acts: Buddhist/Christian; Parent/ Lover; Lesbian/ Human.

The OutWrite Book Fair will include several book readings, poetry readings, and literary discussions. Several book publishers will display and sell recently published LGBT books, and the DC Center will have over 1,000 used LGBT themed books for sale at the event (many at only $1 each).
