The DC Center is kicking up our arts and cultural programs into high gear and we need your help to make it happen. Consider volunteering with Center Arts: our volunteer committee for arts and cultural programs. The next Center Arts committee meeting will be Wednesday February 22nd at 6:00 PM at the DC Center for the LGBT Community. Center Arts has three big events coming up that we can use your help with.

Theatre Festival We are partnering with Alan Balch, Rebecca Gingrich-Jones, and Matt Ripa to host the first DC Queer Theatre Festival. The first annual festival will take place on May 17, 18, and 19, 2012. Find out more at: dcqueertheatrefest.wordpress.com.

Poetry Slam & Summit The DC Center is proud to be the host organization for the 2012 Capturing Fire National Queer Spoken Word Summit and Slam. This event takes place May 30th through June 2nd. For more information about this event visit: www.capturingfire.org.

Literature Festival Finally, the DC Center will host our second annual OutWrite book fair. The OutWrite Book Fair will be a day chock-full of book readings, book vendors, book discussions, poetry readings and more. For more information visit: www.outwritedc.org.
