The DC Center is proud to welcome Alexandra Andrea Beninda to the DC Center Board of Directors. Alexandra is one of eight new board members that begin their term this month.

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Alexandra attended Wayne State University. Alexandra is a former resident of Northern Virginia where she represented the LGBT community on the Board of Directors for Equality Virginia and served as Treasurer of the Virginia Partisans Gay and Lesbian Democratic Club.

Alexandra moved to Washington DC in May 2010 where she became an active member of the Gertrude Stein Democratic Club (GSDC) and serves as one of their two DC Democratic State Committee representatives.

Alexandra is an active member and assistant treasurer for All Souls Unitarian Church community in Columbia Heights. Alexandra is an openly identified LGBT advocate and transgender woman who would like to initiate, encourage, and integrally involve the DC trans community in the DC Center and likewise integrally involve the DC Center with the needs, desires, and interests within the DC trans community.
