Hi there! My name is Marika and I am the new Youth Working Group intern at the DC Center. I'm currently a third year student at The George Washington University working on my Bachelor's in Women's Studies with a minor in LGBT and Sexualities Studies.

I arrived as a student in DC with political aspirations but soon found myself exploring and becoming active in George Washington's LGBT Community. Through an alternative breaks trip to New York City to work with LGBT homeless youth I decided I wanted to become more involved in the DC LGBT Youth community. I believe that LGBT Youth are at the forefront of our community and deserve to be fully advocated for both on community and national levels. I'm excited to get to know the LGBT Youth community in DC and learn how I can better serve them as they come into this amazing community!
