Founded in 1988, Food & Friends provides freshly prepared meals, nutrition support, and friendship to people living with AIDS, cancer, and other life challenging illnesses. Food and Friends seeks a Development Assistant to provide general support to our busy fundraising team. The Development Assistant will research major donor prospects; provide ongoing support to the events team, inclusive of on-site event logistics coordination; assist with data entry; maintain development files; and coordinate volunteer support for the Development Department. The Development Assistant will also represent Food & Friends at community events, such as outreach fairs and third-party fundraising events. This is an outstanding opportunity for a junior development professional to obtain broad exposure to many facets of fundraising and development.

The successful candidate will have a BA/BS and at least one year of work experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting. Prior fundraising experience a plus. Additional requirements include a valid driver's license and good driving record; superb communication skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment; ability
to work independently and as part of a team and an appreciation for diversity. Must be willing to work some evenings and holidays. Offer of employment contingent upon a pre-employment drug test.
